Teeny Tucker’s Women In The Blues Presentation with Robert Hughes and hosted by Michael Cloeren is an exceptional educational and performance experience.
Tucker is a stellar blues singer and songwriter as well as a lover of blues history. She was born into blues royalty as the daughter of Tommy “Hi-Heel Sneakers” Tucker.
She is considered one of the most talented, dynamic, exciting and creative personalities on the blues scene. Tucker creates crowd frenzy wherever she goes.
Tucker has cultivated and developed her gifts into her very own uniquely compelling world-class package.
As a child, she began signing in the church choir. This experience, like so many other soulful success stories, undoubtedly began to chart the course of her music career. The paths that would lead to her abilities to interpret with soulful, bluesy and unique stylistic renderings was set.
Tucker has appeared on the same bill with B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Etta James, Buddy Guy, the Holmes Brothers, Robert Cray, Keb’ Mo’, Deana Bogart, Kenny Neal, Bobby Rush and John Mayall.
Tucker and her band are featured performers at some of the most prestigious music and blues festivals.
She has been a teaching artist since 2010, conducting a Women in Blues Workshop.
In 2014 Tucker delivered a command forum seminar performance, “Women in the Blues and How to Overcome Obstacles” at Penn State. Her seminar received a standing ovation.
Women In The Blues Presentations create educational and performance platforms that actively engage audiences, recognizing the historical influences and facilitate immersion in the Women in The Blues genre.
Women in The Blues, A Michael Cloeren Productions presentation, is a two-part program that features the very best international touring female artists in the world.
The first component is an interactive educational conversation with Tucker. This format allows an up close and personal dialogue that examines the historical influences on today’s music that was created from the real-life journey of the participating artist.
Culminating the two-part presentation is a concert by Tucker.
Cloeren, who is hosting the event, is founder and producer of the Pennsylvania Blues Festival at Split Rock Resort in Lake Harmony.
Robert Hughes is a guitarist who performs with Tucker.
